The War Eagle Run Fest, now in its fifth edition, has quickly become a beloved Auburn tradition. With recent fields nearing 2,200 finishers drawn from 41 states, this half marathon offers a unique tour of Auburn University’s scenic campus. Runners start and finish near the stadium, winding past iconic landmarks and cheering sections of students and locals.
The race itself is a celebration of Auburn spirit. After crossing the finish line, participants receive a commemorative medal and are invited to a post-race tailgate with live music and Southern-style food. The 5K and 1-mile options make it a family-friendly event, and the growing field attracts both competitive runners and first-timers. About 23% of participants return in later years, a testament to the welcoming atmosphere and strong sense of community.
While the course is largely flat and paved, the real draw is the experience—running through a vibrant college campus and capping it off with a true Auburn tailgate. FRESHJUNKIE Racing, in conjunction with Auburn-Opelika Tourism and Auburn University are proud to present the 5th Annual War Eagle Run Fest. Athletes and fans can choose from either a half marathon (13.1 miles) or 5k (3.1 miles) to test their mettle while touring the campus like no other Auburn fan. There will also be a 1 mile run for the Little Tigers presented by Allen Turner Automotive. After gathering your commemorative medal, join us outside the stadium for the post-race tailgate and enjoy the music and food that Auburn fans have come to love. Whether you are staff, student, alumni or just a fan, join us and be a part of the War Eagle Run Fest.
