About The Crush Cancer Run

The Crush Cancer Run in Terrebonne, Oregon is a half marathon race held annually on May 20th. This year, it’s taking place on the scenic trails of the High Desert Trailhead in Terrebonne. The course is 13.1 miles long and takes runners through some of Central Oregon’s most beautiful scenery.

Runners will start at an elevation of 3000 feet and climb up to nearly 4200 feet by the time they reach the summit of Eagle Butte near mile 11. There are several sections that traverse open meadows with views out over the surrounding Cascade Mountain range, including Mt Hood and Mt Jefferson to the north and south respectively. The terrain is mostly flat or gently rolling hills, so even novice runners should be able to complete this course without too much difficulty.

The weather in Central Oregon during May can vary widely between cool mornings and hot afternoons but usually averages around 70 degrees Fahrenheit during midday when most runners will be completing their run. As far as crowds go, there are usually plenty of other participants running along with you which gives a nice atmosphere to push yourself for that extra mile; however if you’d prefer more solitude then starting early may be your best bet as there won’t be quite as many people out on the trail at sunrise!

One special thing about this race is its purpose – raising money for cancer research charities such as St Jude Children’s Research Hospital – making it truly unique from other races throughout Central Oregon each year! So not only do participants get to enjoy some amazing sights while pushing themselves physically but also make a difference in helping fight against cancer – what could possibly make for a better day?

Overall I would highly recommend signing up for this incredible event – whether you’re looking for a personal challenge or just want to take in some stunning vistas while helping contribute towards an important cause then look no further than Crush Cancer Run!
