About The Duke City Marathon

The Duke City Marathon in Albuquerque, New Mexico on 22 October, 2023 is a half marathon that offers an incredible running experience. The fast and flat course takes runners through the heart of the city with breathtaking views of the Sandia Mountains and downtown Albuquerque’s historic architecture.

Starting at Civic Plaza Park, runners will head southwest along Central Avenue for five miles before turning south onto San Pedro Drive for five more miles to reach the finish line at Tiguex Park. Along this route you’ll take in views of beautiful neighborhoods, unique shops and restaurants, vibrant murals, and art installations from local artists.

October is one of the best times to run in Albuquerque due to its mild weather conditions with temperatures ranging from 40°F (4°C) overnight lows up to 75°F (24°C) during midday hours – perfect for running! Plus there’s plenty of sunshine throughout most days making it ideal for outdoor activities like running a half marathon race.

The crowd atmosphere at this event is always electric as people cheer on their friends and family members while they compete in the race. There are even live bands performing along various points throughout the course giving participants extra motivation when they need it most! Plus there are plenty of volunteers offering water stations every couple miles which really helps out those who may be feeling fatigued during their run.

What really makes this particular race special though is that each participant gets a custom-made medal shaped as an arrowhead after completing their 13 mile journey! This serves as a great reminder that no matter how challenging your goals might seem they can always be achieved if you put your mind to it – just like crossing that finish line after conquering 13 long miles!

Overall I’d highly recommend participating in The Duke City Marathon if you’re looking for an amazing half marathon experience filled with fantastic scenery, excellent crowd support, perfect weather conditions and even a fun memento afterwards!
