About The Holiday 5K, 10K & Half Marathon

Unfortunately, the Holiday 5K, 10K & Half Marathon race scheduled to take place on December 16, 2023, in Wilmington, NC, has been canceled due to a change in permit cost. The organizers are refunding all registrations, ensuring that participants are not left disappointed.

Originally, the race promised an amazing experience for all participants. Finishers were guaranteed to receive a themed medal, a tangible token of their accomplishment. The race was set to commence at 8:00 AM, allowing runners to embrace the morning energy and kickstart their day with a burst of adrenaline.

Packet pickup would have been available 30 minutes before the race, providing ample time to collect race essentials. It was important for all runners to register on RunSignup, as there was no on-site registration available. The 5K and 10K had a time limit of 2 hours, while the Half Marathon allowed participants 4 hours to complete the course.

Speaking of the course, the 5K and 10K routes were both captivating out-and-back courses. The 5K runners would have experienced it once, while the 10K participants had the privilege of enjoying it twice. The Half Marathon, on the other hand, would have taken runners on a longer journey, completing the course four times.

While we cannot enjoy the actual race this year, Wilmington, NC, is still a fascinating city worth exploring. Known for its vibrant culture and picturesque coastal landscapes, this city would have provided a memorable backdrop for the race. With its mild winter climate, participants could have expected pleasant running conditions, not overly cold nor scorching hot.

Although the event cannot take place as scheduled, we hope to see you at future races organized by US Road Running. Stay motivated, keep training, and get ready to make incredible memories on the road. Remember, running is not just about the finish line – it’s about the journey, the camaraderie, and creating lifelong memories. So lace up your shoes, and embrace the next opportunity to run, because the thrill of racing is just around the corner!
