About The Kinzua Half Marathon
The Kinzua Half Marathon in Mt. Jewett, Pennsylvania is the perfect race for runners of all levels looking to take on a challenge and enjoy some unbeatable scenery at the same time. The 13-mile course starts off with an 8-mile loop around Mt Jewett where you’ll have magnificent views of the Allegheny National Forest and its many lakes, streams, and wildlife. After that it winds back through town before finishing up at a local park overlooking Kinzua Lake.
The summer weather in July can be warm but typically isn’t too hot or humid so running conditions are ideal. Runners will find plenty of shade along the route as well as water stations every two miles providing ample opportunity to stay hydrated throughout your run.
At this half marathon you won’t just be surrounded by fellow runners but also cheering crowds lining either side of the road who come out to show their support for those taking part in this fantastic event. It really does make a difference when you know people are watching! There is also plenty going on afterwards with live music from local bands as well as food trucks offering refreshments after your hard earned victory lap around town!
What makes this race extra special however is that it is held alongside an annual arts & crafts festival which takes place during the weekend prior to race day so if running isn’t quite your thing there are still plenty of activities available for friends and family members coming along for moral support or simply wanting to experience what Mt Jewett has to offer!
Overall, Kinzua Half Marathon offers something unique – beautiful scenery combined with great weather making it one of my favorite races yet – I highly recommend giving it a try if you get the chance!
