About The Marquette Marathon

The Marquette Marathon Half Marathon in Marquette, Michigan on 2 September 2023 promises to be an exciting and scenic race. The route takes runners through downtown Marquette where they can take in the beauty of Lake Superior and Upper Peninsula’s forests. Along the way, runners will pass by a variety of historical sites including the historic Presque Isle Park Lighthouse.

The weather during this time of year is usually mild with temperatures ranging from 60-70 degrees Fahrenheit (15-21°C). This makes for ideal running conditions as it is not too hot or cold which allows for a comfortable race experience. The sun typically rises at 8am so if you choose to run early morning, you are sure to enjoy amazing views of the lake and city skyline before most people have even awoken!

The crowds along the course are generally passionate about running and supportive of all participants regardless of their speed or ability level. There is also plenty of entertainment throughout such as live music performances, food vendors, and activities for kids that make it enjoyable for spectators too!
