About The Priest Lake Marathon and 50K

The Priest Lake Marathon and 50K is an exciting trail run held annually in the beautiful woods of northern Idaho. The race route starts at Priest Lake State Park, winds through trails around the lake, and finishes at the same location.

The scenery on this course is breathtaking; it’s no wonder why they chose this area for a marathon event! Along your journey you will pass by numerous lakeshores which are surrounded by towering evergreen trees. You can also expect to see abundant wildlife such as deer, elk, moose, and bald eagles soaring overhead. Every runner who participates in this half marathon will be sure to appreciate its beauty during their run.

In terms of weather conditions on race day, runners should expect cool temperatures with some sunshine during September in northern Idaho. Rainfall isn’t typically a concern since this time of year usually sees light showers or none at all – perfect for running a half marathon! By late September the temperature often ranges from mid-fifties to low sixties Fahrenheit (13 – 16 Celsius). It’s important that participants dress appropriately for these cooler temperatures so that they stay comfortable throughout the course of their run.

Runners can anticipate being cheered on by supportive crowds throughout their race experience; friends and family members often come out to show their support along with local community members who want to cheer on those participating in such an exciting event! There may even be live bands playing music near certain points along the route – another great way to encourage runners as they make their way towards the finish line!
