About The Rattlesnake Ramble

The Rattlesnake Ramble Half Marathon in Santa Venetia, California is a race that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for an unforgettable running experience. Held each year on February 26th, the course takes runners through some of the most beautiful scenery in California.

The route starts and ends at the Santa Venetia Marina Park and runs along a scenic coastal trail with breathtaking views of San Francisco Bay and Mount Tamalpais. The terrain is mostly flat with some slight inclines here and there which makes it perfect for any level of runner. As you make your way around the course you will get to witness incredible wildlife such as hummingbirds, hawks, deer, rabbits, seals or even dolphins if you’re lucky!

At this time of year temperatures tend to stay mild; usually somewhere between 40-60 degrees Fahrenheit so it’s comfortable enough for a long run but also cool enough not to be too hot. On race day you can expect crowds cheering from start to finish line who are always enthusiastic about supporting their fellow runners. There are plenty of refreshments throughout the course as well as aid stations set up by volunteers offering water and snacks so there is no need to worry about hydration or energy levels during your run!

What really sets this half marathon apart from others though is its unique participation awards; every finisher receives a “venomous rattlesnake medallion” crafted out of pewter that serves as a reminder of your accomplishment once back home! All in all I would definitely recommend this event – whether it’s your first half marathon or 50th – because no matter what level runner you are it’s sure to be an amazing experience!
