About The Run in the Valley of the Mastadons

The Run in the Valley of the Mastadons Half Marathon is an exciting race held just outside of Hemet, California on March 4th, 2023. With a challenging and picturesque route, this half marathon offers scenery that will take your breath away.

Beginning at Lake Hemet, runners will be taken on a scenic tour of the valley as they make their way towards Diamond Valley Lake. Along the way you’ll pass by ancient mastodon fossils embedded in rock walls – hence the name! The route takes you gently downhill for most of the way so it’s perfect for those looking to improve their time or first-time runners hoping to complete a half marathon without too much difficulty.

The weather in early March is typically mild and sunny with temperatures ranging from 50°F – 70°F (10°C – 21°C). It’s always best to come prepared with warm layers just in case though! You can expect large crowds cheering you on throughout your run as well as plenty of music and entertainment along each mile marker.

One of the great things about this event is that not only does it attract competitive athletes but there are also lots of people running for charity which gives it an extra special atmosphere. There are aid stations every few miles stocked with energy drinks and snacks should you need them during your run plus medical staff stationed along each part if needed. At the end everyone receives a finisher medal regardless of whether they came first or last! The post-race party usually includes food trucks and live music making it a great day out even if you don’t want to participate in any races yourself!

Overall, Run in The Valley of The Mastodons Half Marathon provides an excellent opportunity for both experienced runners who want to challenge themselves or first timers aiming to reach their goal distance with plenty memories made along course routes graced by natural beauty while being supported by friendly crowds all around them.
