About The Runtastic Mt. Nebo
If you’re looking for an unforgettable running experience, the Runtastic Mt. Nebo Half Marathon in Payson, Utah is definitely worth considering. On 26 August 2023, runners will take to the roads and trails of this beautiful region with breathtaking views of Mt. Nebo as a backdrop. This 13-mile course takes participants through some of Utah’s most stunning landscapes – from lush meadows and forests to rolling hills and high deserts – making it one of the most picturesque half marathons out there.
The route starts at Payson City Park and follows a mostly flat course around the western base of Mount Nebo before heading up Redman Mill Road towards North Peak Trailhead where runners get their first glimpse at stunning mountain vistas stretching across southern Utah Valley. After winding along scenic canyon paths, runners then make their way back down towards Payson Town Lake for a pleasant finish line celebration that includes refreshments and plenty of photo ops against a backdrop of spectacular scenery.
Weather conditions are usually mild during late summer in this part of Utah; temperatures tend to hover between 60-80 F degrees on race day with only occasional bouts of precipitation (mostly light showers). As far as crowd support goes, expect plenty! The local community turns out in droves every year to cheer on racers throughout the entire course so don’t be surprised if you find yourself surrounded by enthusiastic spectators shouting your name as you go by!
In addition to boasting some truly incredible scenery, what makes Runtastic Mt. Nebo stand out from other half marathons is its commitment to safety: all participants must wear reflective gear after dark and medical personnel are stationed along key points throughout the event just in case something unexpected happens mid-race (which rarely does!). With its unique combination topography combined with great weather conditions and loads crowd support, it’s no wonder why this race has become such an annual favorite among both amateur and professional athletes alike!
