About The Scenic City Trail Marathon
The Scenic City Trail Marathon in Chattanooga, Tennessee on 13 May, 2023 is a half marathon race that gives runners the opportunity to experience beautiful natural landscapes as they challenge themselves with a 13.1 mile course.
The route of the race starts at Coolidge Park and follows along the paved trails of Chattanooga’s Riverwalk before taking runners into various city parks where they can take in views of Lookout Mountain and Signal Mountain. The terrain is relatively flat with only one gradual incline towards the end of the course. This makes it an ideal choice for those looking for a challenging yet achievable run – even beginners who are new to running will be able to take part and enjoy themselves!
Runners will be blessed with beautiful scenery throughout their journey; many have reported seeing wildlife such as deer, birds, turtles, and fish during their run. As well as this, you’ll get great views from atop Lookout Mountain which overlooks downtown Chattanooga. The typical weather that time of year is pleasant – temperatures are usually around 65-75°F (18-24°C) so you won’t need to worry about getting too hot or cold!
You won’t feel alone on your run either; there will be plenty of other participants cheering each other on as well as hundreds of volunteers providing refreshments and support along every step of your journey. There is also music playing at several points during the course so you can really get into a rhythm while running!
One special thing about this half marathon worth mentioning is its post-race activities – after crossing the finish line runners will receive medals followed by beer tastings from local breweries while they soak up some live musical entertainment provided by local bands near Ross’s Landing Park located right next door to Coolidge Park where it all began!
