About The Southwest 100

The Southwest 100 Half Marathon in Fort Davis, Texas is an exciting race through some of the most picturesque scenery in the state. The route starts and ends at Fort Davis State Park and winds its way through the rolling hills of this historic region. Along the course, runners will get to experience views of mountains, canyons, and high desert terrain that are truly stunning.

The weather during March tends to be quite mild – temperatures usually range from around 50-70 degrees Fahrenheit with light breezes throughout the day. This makes it a comfortable temperature for running or walking even if you’re not used to running long distances like this one! As for crowds, there’s typically a good mix of local runners as well as out-of-towners who come just for this event every year. It’s definitely a great atmosphere where everyone encourages each other along their journey towards crossing that finish line!

Something special about this race is that it includes two water stations located at miles 6 and 10 – making sure all participants have enough hydration throughout their run. Additionally, there are several aid stations set up along each mile marker where volunteers offer energy bars and gels so you can keep going until you reach your goal time or distance! Finally, after completing your half marathon journey you’ll receive a commemorative medal (or trophy if you place first) plus access to post-race festivities such as food trucks with free snacks and drinks available for purchase.

Overall I’d highly recommend participating in the Southwest 100 Half Marathon if ever given the chance – it’s certainly an unforgettable experience no matter how fast or slow your pace may be! With beautiful views throughout its course plus plenty of amenities offered by organizers make sure everyone has an enjoyable time on race day; I guarantee that when you look back on this moment years from now you won’t regret having taken part in such a unique event!
