About The Southwest Series – Day 1 – NM
The Half Marathon Southwest Series – Day 1 in Farmington, New Mexico is an event that runners of all levels and experience can enjoy. The race course starts at the historic San Juan County Courthouse and winds through the heart of Farmington. The route follows a scenic path along the Animas River, passing by stunning views of Shiprock, Chaco Canyon, and Mesa Verde National Park.
As far as weather goes, November in this part of New Mexico tends to be dry with temperatures ranging from lows in the 40s to highs around 70 degrees Fahrenheit during the day. This makes for ideal running conditions while still allowing you to take in some spectacular views along your journey!
The crowd on race day is usually quite large; there are typically hundreds of participants who come out each year for this event.
