About The The Dam Half
The Dam Half in Mifflinburg, Pennsylvania is a must-do half marathon race. Taking place on 17 September 2023, runners will enjoy the beautiful rural route that takes them along the Susquehanna River and through some of the most peaceful countryside Pennsylvania has to offer.
The course starts at the Mifflinburg Park and then heads north for about 11 miles before looping back towards town. Runners will be able to appreciate stunning views of farmlands, rolling hillsides, and occasional glimpses of wildlife along their journey. The final stretch brings them into town where they’ll cross over an old railroad bridge before finishing at the park once again.
September weather in this area tends to be mild but can vary greatly depending on conditions that year; usually temperatures range from highs in the low 70s (Fahrenheit) during the day down to lows around 50 degrees overnight with chances for precipitation throughout much of fall. As far as crowds are concerned, there tend to be more spectators during morning hours as people come out early to cheer on participants while they run by; many also stay afterwords when it’s time for awards and post-race festivities!
What makes The Dam Half so special is its commitment to supporting local businesses; instead of offering typical half marathon swag such as t-shirts or water bottles, each participant receives a voucher good for discounts at local establishments like restaurants or cafes within walking distance from downtown Mifflinburg! It’s an extra perk that adds even more incentive for joining this great event every year!
Overall, The Dam Half is quite simply one of those unique races you won’t soon forget – no matter if you’re going all out or taking your time – thanks not only its scenic route but also due its friendly atmosphere and support from both locals and fellow runners alike!
