About The Xpress Half Marathon
The Xpress Half Marathon in Wichita Falls, Texas is one of the most popular half marathons in the region. Taking place on March 4th, 2023, runners will have a chance to experience some of the best views and terrain that North Texas has to offer. The race starts at 8am and follows an out-and-back route that takes runners through downtown Wichita Falls, along Lake Arrowhead Dam Road, past Lake Kickapoo Park, before finishing up back at Memorial Stadium. The course is mostly flat with just a few hills thrown in for good measure – perfect for novice or experienced runners alike!
In terms of scenery along the route, you’ll be treated to stunning views of rolling hills dotted with trees as well as glimpses of Lake Arrowhead. If you’re lucky enough to be running during sunrise or sunset hours then you can also catch beautiful colors reflecting off the lake and surrounding area. As far as weather goes for this time of year; expect temps around 50F (10C) on race day so dress appropriately!
The crowds are typically quite large and enthusiastic – perfect for anyone who needs extra motivation along their run! And because it’s such a popular event there are usually plenty of volunteers available throughout the course offering water & aid station support as well as cheering everybody on from start to finish line. Plus once you cross that finish line don’t forget your free finisher’s medal – another great reminder & souvenir after all your hard work!
Overall if you’re looking for a great challenge & rewarding experience then look no further than Xpress Half Marathon in Wichita Falls! With its beautiful scenery combined with mild temperatures this late winter/early spring event should definitely be high up on your list when considering which races to sign up for next year.
