The Snoqualmie Valley Half is one of the Pacific Northwest's best-kept running secrets — a USATF-certified course that winds through old-growth forest, farmland, and the scenic Snoqualmie Valley Trail just 30 minutes east of Seattle. Starting at Tolt MacDonald Park, runners follow a smooth, non-technical trail surface along the Tolt River before joining the valley trail for a gentle out-and-back route. The slight uphill in the first half gives way to a rewarding downhill return, making this a favorite course for PRs despite the trail surface.
Organized by Orca Running, the race draws consistently strong reviews for its production quality — pacers for multiple finish times, well-stocked aid stations with Tailwind and GU, and a festive finish in the shadow of the park's iconic red barn. The field has grown steadily from 522 finishers in 2023 to 674 in 2025, attracting runners from 25 states. With a median finish time around 2:07 and a nearly even gender split, it's a welcoming event for runners of all levels.
June in the Snoqualmie Valley delivers near-perfect running conditions — average highs around 70°F with low precipitation. Runners consistently praise the shaded canopy, river views, and gentle terrain. The race includes a finisher's medal, race t-shirt, and post-race festivities. Youth and senior discounts (15% off for under-22 and over-65) and multi-race bundle options make this an accessible destination race.
