Trent Waldron Half Marathon

The Trent Waldron Half Marathon & 10K, held annually since 1996, is a beloved Anchorage tradition that honors Marcie Trent and Larry Waldron while supporting the Anchorage Young Cancer Coalition. The half marathon course is an out-and-back along the Chester Creek and University trails, relatively flat with a gradual uphill outbound. With a median field of about 444 finishers and runners from roughly 22 states, it draws a loyal following—around 26% of participants return in later years.

The race starts and finishes at Margaret Sullivan Park, with a 10K option that shares the start/finish and turns at Davenport Park. The trails offer a scenic, shaded route through Anchorage's greenbelts, and the flat profile makes it a great option for first-timers or anyone chasing a PR.
