Bakersfield Marathon

The Bakersfield Marathon, now a well-established race with a decade-long tradition, draws a growing field of around 2,000 runners. Nearly a third return each year, a testament to its appeal. The point-to-point course winds through historic neighborhoods, offering a scenic urban tour.

Starting at one point and finishing at the Kern County Museum, the route features well-stocked aid stations. Typical race-day weather is mild, with temperatures in the 40s to 60s, ideal for a strong effort. The finish line festivities create a lively post-race festival atmosphere.

Runners come from about 15 states to experience this event. The flat, paved course suggests PR potential, and the gender-specific tech shirt is a nice bonus. But the real draw is the sense of community and the energetic celebration at the historic museum.
