Lake Tahoe Marathon Weekend

The Lake Tahoe Marathon offers a breathtaking point-to-point journey around one of North America's most iconic alpine lakes, straddling the California and Nevada border. This annual event, first run in 1999 and now in its 22nd year, draws runners from approximately 27 states, eager to experience its unique course.

The marathon course is celebrated for its stunning natural beauty, with much of the route hugging the shoreline, providing unparalleled views of the crystal-clear, turquoise waters and the surrounding Sierra Nevada mountains. While the course is largely flat with minimal elevation change, the sheer altitude of Lake Tahoe presents its own unique challenge.

With a growing field that recently saw around 467 finishers, the atmosphere is one of shared appreciation for the scenery and the accomplishment. The event is part of a larger long-weekend celebration that also includes swim, kayak, and stand-up paddleboard activities, making it a destination for outdoor enthusiasts.
