The Experience

The All-Out Kooky-Spooky half marathon, now in its 15th year, winds along the shores of Arvada's Blunn Reservoir, utilizing the Ralston Creek Trail. This scenic course begins at the base of Colorado's foothills, offering a refreshing escape from the city.

The event embraces its Halloween theme with an official costume contest, encouraging runners to don their favorite spooky attire. As a bonus, the race falls on November 1st, granting participants an extra hour of sleep thanks to the end of daylight savings time.

With a median field size of around 518 finishers, the Kooky-Spooky half marathon attracts runners from approximately 16 states, though only about 10% are repeat participants. The course is designed to challenge both beginners and seasoned athletes, making it a welcoming event for a wide range of runners.

Race-provided description

From the base of Table Mountain and Colorado's spectacular foothills, All-Out Multicourse presents our 15th annual Kooky-Spooky from Jefferson County's NAAC Stadium… easily accessible from several nearby highways. Along with its Endless Series sidekick in March, Spring Fever, these 5K, 10K & Half Marathon courses will hug the shores of Arvada's Blunn Reservoir via the Ralston Creek Trail and will challenge the beginner and veteran athlete alike! Of course, we'll still be celebrating the Halloween spirit so re-use your Halloween costume for our official costume contest. And especially revel in the extra hour of sleep you get as Nov. 1 is the end of daylight savings time!
