The Experience
The Silver Rush 15 Run is a high-altitude trail race that tests fortitude against the backdrop of Colorado's towering 14,000-foot peaks. Set in the historic mining town of Leadville, this race is part of the legendary Leadville Race Series, known for its grueling terrain and stunning mountain scenery. Runners brave technical climbs and relentless descents, all while breathing thin air at over 10,000 feet.
The 15-mile course, while a more manageable distance than its 50-mile counterpart, still packs a punch with significant elevation change and challenging footing. The route takes participants across open mountain slopes, through aspen groves, and under the shadow of the Rocky Mountains, offering panoramic vistas that make the effort worthwhile. The finish line in Leadville is a celebration of grit, with the town's mining heritage lending a rugged, authentic feel to the event.
