The Experience

The Run Jekyll Weekend transforms Georgia's beautiful Jekyll Island into a runner's paradise. This event, first run in 2022 and now in its 5th year, draws participants from approximately 29 states, offering a variety of distances including 5K, 10K, half marathon, and full marathon.

Runners can expect a scenic course that winds through coastal beauty, lush nature trails, and past historic landmarks. The half marathon, a USATF-certified event, boasts a net drop and minimal elevation change, making it a potential PR course. With typical January temperatures ranging from the low 40s to low 60s, the weather is often favorable for racing.

With a median field size of around 666 finishers and growing, the event offers a lively atmosphere. All participants receive finisher medals, and those who register by early December are guaranteed a T-shirt. The Jekyll Island Club serves as the host hotel, adding to the destination appeal of this coastal race weekend.
