2026 Des Plaines River Trail Race

The Des Plaines River Trail Race, now in its 15th edition, draws runners from some 22 states each year, with a loyal ~16% returning to the trails. Held at Half Day Forest Preserve, the half-marathon (alongside marathon, 50K, and 50-mile distances) follows the fast, crushed-gravel Des Plaines River Trail, winding through dense woodland with the river as a constant companion.
