The Experience
The Tri-State Warrior Run/Walk, 5k, 10k & Half Marathon unfolds on the historic grounds of the Illinois Veterans Home, a site established in 1886. This family-friendly event not only offers various distances, including a new Kids Fun Run, but also supports the Tri-State Warrior Outreach, which aids local veterans and their families since 2012.
Runners will experience a course that winds past extraordinary architecture, peaceful woods, the Deer Park, and US Military memorials, including the inspirational Avenue of Flags. The 5k, 10k, and Half Marathon routes navigate through Sunset Cemetery and the Medal of Honor Memorial, extending to the Cedar Creek Trail before looping back to the finish line on the Veterans Home grounds. All finishers receive traditional dog tag-style medals, and virtual options are available for those unable to attend in person.

Join us for the annual Tri-State Warrior Run/Walk, 5k, 10k & HALF MARATHON! New to the 2025 race...the Bob Scott Memorial Kids Fun Run! Come join us for this wonderful family event that benefits the Tri-State Warrior Outreach, supporting unmet needs of area Veterans and their families since 2012. The 1 Mile Walk, 5k , 10k and Half Marathon start and end on the historic grounds of the IL Veterans Home, built in 1886. Participants will see extraordinary architecture, peaceful woods, the Deer Park, US Military memorials and go past the inspirational Avenue of Flags. The 5k, 10K and Half Marathon challenges runners along hills through Sunset Cemetery and the Medal of Honor Memorial then to the end of the Cedar Creek Trail before looping back around the IL Veteran's Home grounds to finish back at the Start/Finish line behind the Administration building. Our traditional dog tag-style medals are given to all event finishers. New this year...our inaugural Bob Scott Memorial Kids Fun Run for ages 10 and under…
