The Experience
Now in its 14th edition, the Tour de La Porte half-marathon draws about 140 runners from six states each year, with roughly 35% returning annually. The event raises funds for the La Porte County Family YMCA, having brought in over $64,000 in 2025 to support youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
The race starts on Waverly Road and finishes at Cummings Lodge, winding through the small-town streets of La Porte, Indiana. The course is flat and fast, ideal for a PR attempt, though the low-key, community-driven atmosphere makes it equally welcoming for first-timers. Runners are encouraged by the cause and the tangible impact of their miles.
At the finish line, participants enjoy a sense of accomplishment and the knowledge that every stride strengthens local programs. With a T-shirt and a post-race community vibe, the Tour de La Porte offers a meaningful race day experience in a friendly Midwestern setting.
