2027 Autumn and Ales 10K

Autumn & Ales has been a Scarborough, Maine tradition for seven years, and its mid-September date lands right when southern Maine turns crisp and the summer crowds thin out. Half-marathoners share the morning with 5K and 10K runners, so the start line mixes committed distance runners with locals chasing a fast 10K before lunch.

The races follow the same familiar path year after year, with every distance funneling back toward the same finish. Runners travel in from roughly 16 states — a real draw for a race of this size — and the field has grown steadily. Logistics stay refreshingly simple: packet pickup the afternoon before, then everything staged in Scarborough on race morning.

Then there's the finish, and the ales it promises. Every distance leads back to the celebration, where runners trade splits over a pint. Fundraising and donations flow to Maine Needs, teams are welcome, and the first 100 registrants score a race tee. It's a small race with a big-hearted, end-of-summer feel — the kind of morning that sells a town.
