2027 Rivertown Races

Now in its 13th year, the Rivertown Races start and finish at the sprawling Meadows of Millennium Park, the largest urban park in Grand Rapids. The half-marathon course winds over roads and paved trails, crossing bridges and rolling through wetlands and lakeside scenery—a setting that feels far removed from the city. With a typical field of around 500 runners from five states and a repeat-runner rate of 33%, this is a race that builds loyalty.

The rolling terrain offers a fair challenge for first-timers and a solid effort for seasoned runners. The atmosphere is distinctly family-friendly, with a kids' event the evening before and post-race food, beverages, and music at the finish. Presented by Striders and benefiting Bridge Street Ministries, the event wraps community spirit into every mile—a spring staple that earns its returning crowd.
