2027 Octoberfest Half Marathon and 10K

The Octoberfest Half Marathon in Peru, NY, is a small, community-driven race that embodies the spirit of fall in apple country. With a field of about 60 runners, the event has maintained a steady presence since its first edition in 2011, now in its seventh year. Runners wind through rural roads lined with orchards, the crisp autumn air carrying the scent of apples and woodsmoke. The course is a reflection of the region's agricultural character, offering a peaceful, scenic route that feels a world away from crowded urban races.

The race benefits the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, adding a layer of purpose to the day's effort. About a quarter of participants return year after year, drawn by the intimate atmosphere and the post-race celebration. Live music, food, and drinks await at the finish, turning the event into a true community festival. For those seeking a low-key, authentic small-town race with a heartwarming cause, the Octoberfest Half is a hidden gem worth discovering.
