The Experience
The Run Rockaway Beach series, first held in 2018 and now in its eighth year, offers a unique end-of-summer race experience. Runners can choose from a marathon, half marathon, or 5K, all starting and finishing on the boardwalk at Beach 94th Street.
The half marathon course consists of two loops, heading west from Beach 94th Street with a turnaround at Beach 124th Street, then east to 54th Street for another turnaround before returning to the start/finish area. The course is predominantly flat with minimal elevation change, making it a potential PR course. The 5K is an out-and-back.
With a median field size of around 160 finishers, the atmosphere is likely to be intimate yet energetic, especially with the typical August weather in the 60s to 80s. Participants can expect water and Gatorade at ample locations along the course, a T-shirt, and a medal to commemorate their finish.

Start Line & finish are on 94th on Boardwalk. ALL RACES Starts & finish are on 94th on Boardwalk. Half Marathon is 2 loops from Beach 94th west, U-turn on beach 124 St east to 54 street U-turn west and back to Beach 94th street and repeat. FULL MARATHON is additional 2 loops (total 4 loops) 5k is an out and back course. Start on Beach 94 street, go west to Beach124 street, U turn east back to finish on 94 street. Public Parking in Lot on Beach 94th INCLUDES Water and Gatorade will be available at ample locations T-SHIRT/ MEDAL
