The Experience

The Ashland City Half-Marathon, now in its sixth year, unfolds just 20 minutes west of Nashville. This USATF-certified course is designed for speed, featuring a pancake-flat loop that utilizes the scenic Bicentennial Greenway and follows the Cumberland River along Chapmansboro Road.

Known among local fast runners for time trials and tempo runs, the course is celebrated for its minimal elevation change, making it a prime candidate for personal bests. The event typically sees around 431 finishers, drawing participants from approximately 14 states.

While the race is a draw for its fast, flat profile, it maintains a community feel with a focus on inclusivity. The 2025 edition adjusted the course time limit to 3 hours, welcoming runners confident in completing the distance within that timeframe.

Race-provided description

The 6th annual Ashland City Half-Marathon will take place on Saturday March 7th, 2026 in Ashland City (20 minutes west of Nashville). The pancake flat, USATF-certfied course will go from Riverbluff Park and then take you on the beautiful Bicentennial Greenway, returning you alongside the Cumberland River on Chapmansboro Road. This is a loop many of the faster runners in the Nashville area have been using for time trials and tempo runs and is about as flat as you can get without doing a boring out and back race. In an effort to be more inclusive, in 2025 the course will only be open for 3 hours (13:44/mile). But please do not enter unless you are 100% confident you can cover the entire course in under 3 hours.
