CRC Mother's Day Half Marathon

On the second Sunday of May, runners gather at Woodshed Smokehouse in Fort Worth for the CRC Mother’s Day Half Marathon. Now in its 16th year, this small but spirited event draws a field of around 116 runners, many returning year after year—about 16% are loyal repeat participants. The course runs along the Trinity Trails, a flat and fast paved path that winds through the city’s wooded greenbelt. With zero elevation gain, it’s a prime candidate for a personal best—the typical winning time of 1:24:48 hints at its speed.

The race starts and finishes at the smokehouse, where the post-run atmosphere is relaxed and family-focused, celebrating moms with custom finisher medals and technical shirts. The event is capped at 750, but the current field remains intimate, fostering a strong sense of community. Despite the heat and humidity—temperatures consistently in the 70s by race time—the tree-lined trails offer some shade. It’s a straightforward, well-organized race that prioritizes the joy of running with family.
