2027 Sand Hollow Marathon & 1/2 Marathon

Every March, Hurricane, Utah, puts on a race that trades big-city spectacle for something quieter. The Sand Hollow Marathon & Half starts and finishes at the Hurricane Rec Center, and the morning carries an unmistakably small-town feel — early spring temperatures that run from the high 30s into the mid 50s, a steady breeze, and a course that shows off the surrounding scenery.

The half is run on paved roads, and it moves quickly: recent winners have crossed the line near 65 minutes, a pace that tells you this is a course where you can chase a number rather than just survive it. Run it steady, and there's room to work.

The field is modest but genuinely far-flung — roughly 170 finishers, pulling runners from around 18 states, with a small, loyal core who come back year after year. Now eight editions deep and still going, it's the rare small-town race that offers both a marathon and a half on the same March morning.
