The Experience

For two decades, the Girlfriends Run has brought women together in Vancouver, Washington, for a half-marathon, 10K, and 6K that is equal parts personal achievement and collective purpose. Over the years, the event's pink brigade has raised nearly $900,000 for breast cancer support—a mission born from one woman's diagnosis that now unites thousands of runners and walkers each year.

The course itself is a gentle, road-based loop that welcomes all paces. About half the participants run, half walk, and many do a combination of both. The atmosphere is one of camaraderie and quiet determination, with friends and families lining the route to cheer on their loved ones. It's a day when the finish line feels like a celebration of community as much as fitness.

Post-race, participants receive a commemorative T-shirt, but the real reward is the knowledge that every step supports a vital cause. Whether you're chasing a personal best or simply enjoying a morning with your girlfriends, this race offers a meaningful, low-key experience that has kept runners coming back for 20 years.

Race-provided description

THE GIRLFRIENDS AND PINK BRIGADE HAVE RAISED OVER $900,000 OVER THE LAST 18 YEARS! The 20th Annual Girlfriends Run offers a Half Marathon, 10K & 6K designed specifically for women to get together to do something good for themselves and to help support a very important women’s cause. We started this event to honor and support one of our BFFs, Joleen Skarberg, who was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and continues to run it every year with her daughters, sisters, nieces, cousins and girlfriends! Watch for her – she’ll be wearing #1! About half the gals run, half walk and many do a combination of running and walking. It doesn’t matter how you get to the finish line, as long as you get there!
