The Experience
Puyallup Valley Half Marathon offers a fast, flat course along the Puyallup River and through Van Lierop Park onto the Foothills Trail. With a mix of paved trail, sidewalks, and street crossings, the route showcases the valley’s scenic riverfront while keeping elevation gain to nearly zero—ideal for runners chasing a personal best. The event is intentionally intimate, capped at 200 participants, creating a low-key, community-focused atmosphere.
The start/finish line at the Puyallup Riverwalk Trail behind Fred Meyer sets a no-frills tone, but the rewards are genuine: a finisher medal, chipped timing, and post-race snacks. The first 60 registrants receive a short-sleeve event shirt, and top two male and female finishers in each distance earn awards. With a generous 4-hour time limit, this race welcomes beginners and veterans alike to enjoy a smooth, scenic day along the river.
