The Soaring Eagle Trail Run offers a rare escape: minutes from Seattle traffic, you’re on forested singletrack in Sammamish. Now in its 14th edition, this half-marathon draws around 125 to 200 runners, a loyal 6% who return year after year, from as many as 5 states.
The course rolls through Soaring Eagle Regional Park, relatively flat by trail standards but punctuated by large roots that keep you alert. Aid stations every 3-4 miles stock water, Nuun, Clif products, PBJ, fruit, and cookies. After the finish, the spread continues with an assortment of food and beverages.
