Now in its 16th edition, the Eau Claire Marathon draws a growing field of nearly 2,300 runners from about 34 states, with a loyal quarter returning year after year. The May morning typically starts cool in the mid-40s, warming into the low 60s—ideal conditions for a fast race.
The USATF-certified point-to-point course runs through Eau Claire with negligible elevation change and a slight net drop, making it a prime target for personal bests. The route connects different parts of the city, finishing downtown where a block party awaits.
Post-race, the Barstow Block Party turns the finish area into a celebration with food, music, and community. With a well-stocked expo and a fun kids' run the day before, the weekend has a distinctly hometown feel that keeps runners coming back.
