Last weekend brought thousands of runners to the starting line in New Jersey for a fast, crowded, and memorable morning. Whether you were out there chasing a personal best, completing your very first half marathon, or tracking friends from afar, the weekend delivered some impressive performances.
Jersey City
The 2026 Jersey City saw a massive field of 9,124 finishers cross the line. With runners traveling from 48 different states, the energy was high from the front of the pack all the way to the final finishers.
At the front, Joshua Izewski from Durham, North Carolina, took the win with a blazing time of 1:02:09. Holding an average pace of 4:44 per mile, Izewski set a high bar for the morning. Samuel Whittaker from Niantic, Connecticut, also put down a standout performance, crossing the line in 1:06:10.
But the story of any great half marathon is found in the middle of the pack. The median finish time for the day was 2:07:50, representing thousands of runners who put in the long training miles to get to that finish line.
