Welcome to another weekend of half marathon finishes. Whether you were out there chasing a new personal best or tracking friends from afar, the weekend brought plenty of inspiring performances. The spotlight this week is on Virginia, where thousands of runners crossed the finish line at the 2026 PNC Alexandria.
2026 PNC Alexandria
The PNC Alexandria drew a massive crowd this year, with 6,109 finishers representing 45 different states. It is always a thrill to see a race bring together runners from across the country for 13.1 miles.
At the front of the pack, Alex Hillyard took the overall win with a blazing time of 1:07:45, holding an impressive 5:10 per mile pace. Michael Conway followed closely, crossing the line in a swift 1:08:10.
But the story of any half marathon is found in the middle of the pack. The median finish time for the field was 2:03:57, showing a strong, steady effort from the thousands of runners who put in the training miles to get to the start line. Whether this was their first half marathon or their fiftieth state, that finish line feeling is exactly why we run.
