Upcoming Half Marathons in Texas: 4 Races to Plan Now

November in Texas has a reputation problem, and we mean that as a compliment. The summer heat finally lets go, mornings come in cool, and the state's race calendar fills up fast. If you've been circling a fall half without actually registering, this is the stretch where the good ones land.

There are 21 upcoming half marathons on the Texas calendar right now, spread from the Gulf Coast to the Metroplex. Here are four we'd put at the top of the list, plus a link at the end to the full Texas directory so you can see everything else.

Why Texas Is Worth Planning Around This November

Three of the four races below fall on back-to-back weekends: November 8, November 15, and November 21. That gives you options rather than obligations. Pick one and build a clean block toward it. Or pick two weekends apart and turn the season into a small Texas tour. Two of the races share a date, so if you're local to either one, you already have a decision to make.

The other thing worth saying out loud: a November race means your training block starts now. Fifteen to twenty weeks sounds like a lot until you look up and it's October. Registering early is the cheapest accountability you'll ever buy.

Pumpkin Spice Half Marathon — Fort Worth, Saturday, November 21, 2026

If you're only going to circle one date, this is the one. The Pumpkin Spice Half Marathon is the highest-rated of the four, landing in Runner Favorite territory at 82 out of 100 in our ratings. That tends to mean a race that's been figured out — organized, on time, and full of people who came back on purpose.

Late November in Fort Worth is also a genuinely good time to be outside in Texas, which matters more than any of us like to admit. Whether this is your first half or your fiftieth, a race with that kind of rating behind it is a low-risk place to spend a fall Saturday.

La Porte By the Bay Half Marathon — La Porte, Sunday, November 15, 2026

The La Porte By the Bay Half Marathon earns a Standout nod at 79 out of 100, which puts it just behind our top pick and squarely in the "worth the drive" bracket. The name tells you most of what you need to know about the setting, and November on the Gulf side of the state tends to be exactly the weather you'd order for 13.1 miles.

It's a Sunday race, which means a Saturday travel day and a very reasonable Monday back at your desk. If you've been looking for a coastal-feeling Texas half without a coastal-feeling summer, mark this one.

Cypress Half Marathon & 5K presented by Houston Methodist — Cypress, Sunday, November 8, 2026

The Cypress Half Marathon & 5K presented by Houston Methodist is a Standout at 77 out of 100, and the 5K is the detail worth noticing. Not every half comes with a shorter companion distance, and having one changes who you can bring. Your partner who thinks you're slightly unwell. Your kid who wants to race you. A friend who's half-curious but not ready to commit to the full distance.

It's the earliest of the four on the calendar, on November 8, which makes it both the first chance to race this fall and the one with the most training time left to use.

Toyota Music Factory Half Marathon — Irving, Sunday, November 8, 2026

The Toyota Music Factory Half Marathon rounds out the list as a Standout at 75 out of 100, and it shares that November 8 date with Cypress. So if you're choosing between the two, it comes down to which side of the state you're closer to and which course you'd rather spend a Sunday morning on.

This is the pick for runners who like their race weekends to come with something to do afterward. You finish, you eat, and the rest of the day still has room in it.
