A quiet day on the pipeline means no new races or results to report. But with race season in full swing, there’s plenty to look forward to. Here are the standout events coming up soon.
Race This Weekend: Tomorrow!
If you’re ready to race this weekend, two half marathons are on tap for July 18:
- Run Magic City — Birmingham, Alabama. A downtown course through the Magic City’s historic neighborhoods.
- Heatwave Half Marathon - Little Rock — North Little Rock, Arkansas. True to its name, expect warm weather and a flat, fast course along the Arkansas River.
Late July
- MCRRC Riley's Rumble Half Marathon — Boyds, Maryland. July 26. A challenging trail run through the woods of Montgomery County. Part of the MCRRC Grand Prix.
August Lineup
August is packed with options across the country:
- Goodyear Half Marathon & 10k — Akron, Ohio. August 8. A scenic course through the Goodyear Heights Metro Park.
- Anchorage RunFest — Anchorage, Alaska. August 15. A cool-weather escape with views of the Chugach Mountains.
- Parkersburg News and Sentinel Half Marathon — Parkersburg, West Virginia. Also August 15. One of the oldest half marathons in the state, along the Ohio River.
- Ashland Half Marathon & 5k — Ashland, Virginia. August 29. A small-town race with a fast, flat course.
- Iron Horse Half Marathon — North Bend, Washington. August 30. Point-to-point on the Snoqualmie Valley Trail with mountain views.
Quick Tip
Note the geographic diversity: from Alaska to Alabama, August half marathons cover nearly every climate. If you’re chasing a PR, look for the flatter courses (Ashland, Goodyear, Heatwave). If you want a challenge, try Riley’s Rumble or Iron Horse.
That’s it for today. Check back tomorrow for new races and results.
