The pattern: a Mid-Atlantic morning
Four of today's six races sit inside the same tight corridor — Harrisburg in Pennsylvania, Black Diamond Express in New York, Autumn Georgetown in DC, Shenandoah River in Virginia. Add those up and it's 663 finishers spread across a handful of states within a few hours' drive of one another, all posting results on the same afternoon.
The two races outside that cluster are also the two geographic extremes: Illinois, home of the day's biggest field, and Vermont, where the Covered Bridge race in Shelburne quietly put up 215 finishers — a strong number for a race with "covered bridge" in the name.
The long tail
Today's fields ranged from 939 all the way down to 22. Two of the six races — Autumn Georgetown and Shenandoah River — came in under 40 finishers apiece.
That's worth saying plainly: not every half marathon is a 939-person parade. Some are a few dozen people on a river road in Bentonville, Virginia, and those results matter just as much to the people who ran them. Both are searchable now.
