HalfRuns: High Bridge and Lake Merced Results

Fresh 2026 results on HalfRuns: High Bridge Half in Farmville, Virginia posted 1,094 finishers, while Lake Merced Half in San Francisco had 42.

October 4, 2026

Two fresh result sets landed this morning, and together they make a genuinely great side-by-side. One finish line handled a four-figure crowd. The other handed out fewer than fifty. Both fields are fully searchable now.

High Bridge Half: 1,094 finishers in Farmville

The High Bridge Half Marathon & 5k is the headliner of today's pull. The Farmville, Virginia race posted 1,094 finishers for 2026, and the complete results are live.

A four-figure field is a lot of scrolling, and that is exactly what makes a results page like this one fun. Somewhere in those 1,094 names is a training partner, a clubmate, or that person who always seems to be one corral ahead of you.

Lake Merced Half: 42 across the line

On the other side of the country, the Lake Merced Half Marathon in San Francisco posted 42 finishers for 2026. The full results are up here.

Forty-two people. Small enough that the finish line might have felt like a group run that got slightly out of hand, and small enough that every single name is easy to find.

The pattern: same distance, roughly 26 times the field

Put today's two pulls next to each other and the gap is the story.

  • 1,094 finishers in Farmville, Virginia
  • 42 finishers in San Francisco, California
  • That is roughly 26 times the field size for the same distance, on the same October morning of results
  • One race on each coast, one enormous board and one very short one

That is 1,136 half marathon and 5k finishers combined across the two result sets, which is a solid morning's work for the index. Field size is the one thing you can never quite guess from a race listing until you see a year's worth of results sitting in front of you. Today gave us both extremes at once.

Both result sets are indexed and searchable on HalfRuns right now. If you ran either one, your name is in there.
