A new race just hit the calendar, and it's already got photos to match.
Sizzling Soles Lands in Cary
Say hello to the Sizzling Soles Half-marathon, a new addition to the HalfRuns lineup out of Cary, North Carolina. Race day is July 10, 2027 — which feels far off until you remember how fast half marathon calendars fill up in the Triangle. Cary sits right in the middle of one of the densest running corridors in the country, so a new half there is worth circling early.
We also curated the first batch of race photos for Sizzling Soles today. Fresh race, fresh gallery.
Results Are In From Lake Orion
We pulled fresh finisher data from THE ROOTED HALF MARATHON & 5K in Lake Orion, Michigan. That's 77 finishers from the 2026 edition, now searchable in our results archive.
- 77 finishers logged
- 2026 edition

If you ran it, your name is in there. If you didn't, it's a good look at what a mid-size Michigan half looks like on the clock.
The Pattern Worth Noting
Two states, two very different stories. Michigan's Rooted Half gives us a compact, 77-finisher field — the kind of intimate race where you probably recognize half the people around you at the start line. Meanwhile, North Carolina keeps pulling new half marathons onto the map, and Cary is the latest proof. One region is quietly stacking up races; the other is out here keeping it small and rooted. Both are exactly why we track this stuff.
