Happy Halloween, runners. While the rest of the country was carving pumpkins, 7 races landed in the results feed — and the numbers say October went out with a serious stampede.
Atlantic City Leads the Boardwalk
The biggest field of the day belongs to the AmeriHealth Atlantic City Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K & G. Larry James 5K in Atlantic City, New Jersey, with 980 finishers. That's the top tally in today's batch, and it's not close. The full Atlantic City results are live now.
The Midwest Shows Up
Three of today's seven races sit squarely in the middle of the map, and two of them nearly matched Atlantic City finisher for finisher:
- Naperville Half Marathon in Naperville, Illinois — 938 finishers. Results here.
- Mackinac Island Great Turtle Half Marathon & 5.7 Mile in Mackinac Island, Michigan — 935 finishers. Results here.
- Hot Cider Hustle - Green Bay Half Marathon & 5K in Green Bay, Wisconsin — 386 finishers. Results here.
Those two leaders — 938 and 935 — are separated by three runners. Three. That's a photo finish between two races in two different states, and it's the kind of symmetry you can't script.
Halloween on the Course
Fitting for the date: the EVL Halloween Half Marathon, 5k, Half Marathon Relay in Ellicottville, New York, pulled 701 finishers. Results are up. Costumes optional, but we know how this goes.
Smaller Fields, Real Races
Two more results joined the pile today:
- City of Colleges Half Marathon in Conway, Arkansas — 283 finishers. Results here.
- Cleveland Half Marathon, 10k & 5k in Cleveland, Tennessee — 139 finishers. Results here.
The Pattern in the Numbers
Seven races, roughly 6,792 result rows, and a clear geographic story: four of the seven sit in the Midwest or along its edges — Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, and New York's western corner — and those four alone account for 2,960 finishers. Late-October half marathons aren't a coastal thing anymore. The heartland is carrying the calendar.
