For runners who crave a true test of endurance and a break from the ordinary, the Crazies Trifecta offers three half marathons over three days in DeKalb County, Alabama. Limited to just 100 participants, this no-frills challenge strips away timing mats and aid stations, leaving only the raw experience of running mountain roads with a small, dedicated group known as Jerry’s Crazies.
Each morning at 8 a.m., runners gather—locations emailed in advance—and set out on a tour of the county’s rolling hills and mountain scenery. There are no prizes, no course markings except what’s on the ground, and no water stops; it’s you, the road, and the company of a hundred like-minded souls. The reward? Custom Crazies Trifecta swag for completing all three days, plus a free entry into the Rainsville Freedom Run that June.
Every registration fee goes directly to the Rainsville Freedom Run charities, adding a feel-good purpose to the gritty effort. With a cap of 100 runners and a reputation for bare-bones authenticity, the Crazies Trifecta is a hidden gem for those who want to test their grit in Alabama’s scenic foothills.

WOW… This is fantastic… 39.3 MILES in 3 DAYS...Three Half Marathons in Three Days in Three Cities in DeKalb County, Alabama. Rainsville, ALTour Of DeKalb County This is a NO FRILLS RUN; There will be no timing, no water stations, no door prizes, no prize money, BUT those participants who complete all three runs will receive Custom Crazies Swag. NOTE: If you register for the Crazies Trifecta, you will automatically be registered for the Rainsville Freedom Run on June 6, 2026. Dates: March 6, 7, 8, 2026. Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Cost: Registration from January 1 - January 31st is $75 then from February 1st - 23rd the cost for all Three Half Marathons is $100 and everyone that registers will receive a free entry fee into the Rainsville Freedom Run in June 2026. All proceed will be given to the Rainsville Freedom Run charities. Crazies Trifecta will be limited to the first 100 Crazies Friends to register. Deadline to register is February 23, 2026. Each run will start at 8am. Starting locations will be emailed to all participants two weeks prior to trifecta run. This year each participant that completes all 3 days will receive Custom Crazies Trifecta Swag! YOU MUST COMPLETE ALL 3 DAYS TO RECIEVE THE TRIFECTA SWAG SURPRISE! Come join “Jerry’s Crazies” for a weekend of miles and mountains.
