The Experience
Kalama Valley Park sits at the edge of Hawaii Kai, on Oahu's southeast coast, near Sandy Beach. The race begins and finishes in the middle of a loop: runners head mauka — inland — up Kealahou Street to a turnaround, then swing makai, back toward the beach, before returning to the start/finish tent.
Because it's a 3.34-mile circuit that repeats, one course serves every ambition — half marathoners cover a few laps while ultrarunners keep going for 50 miles, 100K, even 100 miles. Turnaround points are marked with cones and signs, and set wave start times let runners pick their company on the road.
The date lands the weekend after the Honolulu Marathon, an easy add-on for anyone already on the island, and the event counts as a 50 States Marathon Club qualifier. Expect warm, humid island air in the high 60s to upper 70s and a steady breeze off the water. It's a low-frills, community-rooted day built around an honest loop and the Pacific just past the turnaround.
