Lincoln Presidential Half Marathon

This half marathon winds through Springfield, Illinois, tracing the footsteps of Abraham Lincoln. The USATF-certified course begins at the Old State Capitol, where Lincoln delivered his "House Divided" speech, and quickly passes the Lincoln-Herndon Law Offices and Lincoln's only owned home.

As runners approach mile nine, they enter Oak Ridge Cemetery to view Lincoln's final resting place, followed by a pass through the city park named in his honor. The final mile features the historic Union Train Station and the Abraham Lincoln Museum and Library, just a block from the finish. The race, which has been a fixture for decades, draws participants from across the country, many returning year after year for its unique historical immersion and community feel.
