2027 Stillwater Half Marathon

Stillwater's half marathon begins on a converted railroad line and ends on a bluff. The opening stretch runs along the Gateway Trail, fully paved and largely under a canopy of trees, before the course swings onto Brown's Creek Trail and into the Victorian river town itself.

Runners are bussed to the start for this point-to-point route, then settle onto flat, shaded trail for the first ten miles before the final three turn onto Stillwater's roads, where the hills arrive. It's a USATF-certified course, though the modest net drop of 1.23 m/km won't do much of the work for you.

The finish lands in Pioneer Park, high above downtown and the Stillwater Lift Bridge, where a genuine crowd is waiting. Fourteen editions in, fields have averaged around 1,200 finishers, drawing runners from some 26 states, with roughly one in five coming back for another go. Race-day weather typically falls between 51 and 69°F, and runners leave with gender-specific shirts and a collectible medal.
