The Experience
The Rhinebeck Fall Foliage Half Marathon has become a cherished autumn tradition in the Hudson Valley. First run in 2011 and now in its 15th year, this event celebrates the vibrant colors of fall in Upstate New York.
The course is noted for its speed and scenic beauty, transforming into a spectacular display of orange and gold foliage. Runners can expect a fast, flat route, ideal for achieving personal bests, as they wind through the picturesque landscape. The event typically sees around 415 finishers, drawing participants from approximately 21 states, highlighting its appeal as a destination race.
Starting and finishing at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds, the race offers a welcoming atmosphere for both half marathoners and 5K participants. While the event is well-established, the repeat-runner loyalty is low, suggesting it's a popular choice for those seeking a unique fall race experience rather than an annual pilgrimage.
