The Experience
The Fleet Feet Rochester Half Marathon, first run in 2005 and now in its 21st year, has become a beloved local institution. Each year, around 2,100 runners participate, with a notable 24% returning for subsequent races, drawing participants from approximately 26 states.
The course, starting at Maplewood Park and finishing at ESL Ballpark, is USATF certified and designed for speed, featuring a net drop and minimal elevation change, making it a prime spot for personal bests. Runners will experience the Pont de Rennes Bridge and enjoy the city's scenic elements.
The atmosphere is bolstered by strong community involvement and spectator support, creating a festive environment. Participants receive a long-sleeve tech shirt or crewneck sweatshirt, a finisher medal, and post-race food, capping off a well-organized event that celebrates Rochester.
